HAPPY BIRTHDAY SONIC!!!!

It's that time of year again, June 23, the day one of the greatest video game nigga in history was spawned onto the face of a Genesis cartrige. Happy birthday Sonic. Age has never been so kind. The blue man has made is mark on history time and time again. Hip hop has never been so proud.... To celebrate I'm a do a run down of the first 2 sonic games so you can savor every time he has given me. Big ups to SEGA and Yuji Naka (the creator of Sonic), I cant imagine a Sonicless world. Days like this make me proud to bear the name of the hedgehog on my mixtapes. Deadass, I think I might buy a cake or sumthing. Then throw some streamers around and shit lol. While the neighbors stare at that crazy nigga across the street who celebrates the birth of a video game LOL. *inhales deep* HAPPY BIRTHDAY SONIC!!!!. Now that I got that out my system.....here is the rundown.

Sonic the Hedgehog: The first Sonic game EVER made. Released on the Genesis June 23, 1991. It for ever changed the name of gaming as it was faster than any other plateformer before it. Collecting rings, super loops, 6 zones (Green Hill, Marble Zone, Spring Yard, Labyinth Zone, Starlight Zone, and Scrap Brain Zone) all to go and stop the evil Robotnik. Good shit.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2: This game added Tails to the mix and upped Sonic's speed x20. Literally, when going fast enough Sonic could leave the screen behind him. Sonic finds Robotnik on West Side Island and hears of the legend of the 7 Chaos Emeralds. This time with 11 zones, and the final boss battle with Robotnik in space. Sonic became Super Sonic with the chaos Emeralds

We Are Now A Brotherhood

After doing some extensive name research (searching Sonic in iTunes), I found there are a few other Sonic's in music also. The gernre's range from pop to rock so I guess we're all different. Felt incline to list them so here they are:

Sonic: Alternative Pop artist since early 2000's

Sonic Youth: Rock: American rock band formed in New York City in 1981. In 2005, they changed their name to Sonic Syndicate. They are influenced by Swedish melodic death metal bands such as In Flames and Soilwork.

Sonic Flood: Christian rock group: U.S. group of Contemporary Christian music, based in Nashville, Tennessee. They started in 1999 with a self-titled debut album.

Brain Food from the Starlight Zone & A New Theory From S.o.n.i.c

I've been on my thinker shit today.... and came across a topic that I felt I needed to touch upon on the gulf of minds called the internet. I'm here to talk about tyranny of "cool".

As you might imagine, I got plenty of niggas and even some friends coming at me about how Sonic isnt "cool" and to drop that shit. But this isnt about my self expression. This about why "cool" is considered what it is whatever it is.

Now..... not to sound like some kind of LSD rebel fan a Jimi Hendrix concert, but society WANTS you to be "cool". Because "cool" is basically the guidelines of what you can and cant do to be accepted into groups of people around you. The desire to be "cool" severely limits the imagination of man and this is a giant problem that has plaqued the genre of rap. When one is considered "cool" he/she is followed by others that wish to achieve the same "status", which in result produces more of the same style from other people, thus losing originality. Not to be confused with "inspiration" because inspiration is the fusion of 50% influence and 51% originality and creates newer styles. Even worse this "cool" alienates anything outside of its boundries but yet drawing people in. New ideas and ideals are considered "crazy" or "outlandish" because they do not fit into the cookie cutter of the "cool" and produce alternative results and styles. Thus making the "cool" a safe zone where anybody imitating the cool is accepted.

Soon, anything outside of the "cool" scares people and this fear hinders the expansion of individuality and originality, discouraging everybody from revealing thier true thoughts and feeling because rejection. Hip hop has reached this cycle.

But there are always the "freedom fighters" that exist outside of the "cool", not because they dont nessically want to be in the "cool" but because they REFUSE to be anything but themselves. This defiance can draw attention to "freedom fighters", and eventually breaks the hold "cool" has on many artists/people, in result "de-robotizing" them from the monogomy of the "cool".

This "cool" exists in any aspect of life and can expand far out from just hip hop. Of course like there is the "cool" in any aspect of life, "freedom fighters" can be found in any aspect too.

This all is in unison to my theory, connecting the concept of the "cool" to SaTAM (the early tv show about Sonic the Hedehgog, SatAM= Saturday Morining)

Freedom Fighers = hip hop artists/people who arent afriad to be themselves

De-robotizing = breaking free of the "cool"/ monogamy

Trifecta Harmony

In traditional color theory, these are the 3 pigment colors that can not be mixed or formed by any combination of other colors. I theorize these are connected to the unity of Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. Blue, Yellow, and Red. All other colors are derived from these 3 hues. Harmony can be defined as a pleasing arrangement of parts, whether it be music, poetry, color, or even an ice cream sundae. In visual experiences, harmony is something that is pleasing to the eye. It engages the viewer and it creates an inner sense of order, a balance in the visual experience. When something is not harmonious, it's either boring or chaotic. At one extreme is a visual experience that is so bland that the viewer is not engaged. The human brain will reject under-stimulating information. At the other extreme is a visual experience that is so overdone, so chaotic that the viewer can't stand to look at it. The human brain rejects what it can not organize, what it can not understand. Got some good news that came today........ and some other news. Ahem, the other news is that Im chasin after another girl for love AGAIN. Shit... sometimes i think i fall in love too easy..... at least i've known her for a while.

With that out the way..... now to the good news. Me and my brother talked to the producer/promoter/record exec that lives across the street from my cousins.... he said he wants us to do a song for a "drug free" campaign for youths and maybe go on tour with him during the summer. The pay is $500 a week so thats chill wit me. Everybody got start sumwhere.... maybe this is mine. Cross ya fingers and toes for us my niggas.

You know those relationships you just cant seem to get rid of even though you know damn well that sh!t is over? Ever had a girl that you loved so much that no matter how she hurt you at the end of the day you could never manage to call her a bitch?



I just saw my ex (not to drop names but... its T**fany, you can figure it out) today in the hall (yes im in high school), we had one of them "old west stare downs" like i didnt know what the fuck to say and she was lookin like she was trying to forget our past..... I had one of those "flashbacks" (lol you know the ones like the movies and shit)..... First thing i wanted to ask was why, but i knew the answer. We havent talked since October because of a fallout love. It was real to me but.... i guess it was a game to her..... Over sum she want to get back with her ex boyfried cause he said sumthing..... For the record we had been together for about a year and sum months and i was FINALLY in love again. Being love for me is like heaven and hell, i the happiest i ever been but im vunurable to being hurt..... She hurt me. After she left i was more lost than a little kid in a grocery store.



Dead ass, I was F**KED up.... For a good 2 weeks all i was locked in my room. Only came out to take a piss or eat. ALL i did was eat, play Sonic the hedgehog (now u kno why i use him), and sleep. When i was at school i stayed zoned out, sleep with my headphones on, and dint talk to no niggas. Maddd depressed..... Gradually gettin over it i was coming out of the state but I stopped making music for a while and jus spent my days playing Sonic 2. The pain actually made me more mentally aware and a better lyricist.



I used to wish i never met her, but now that i got past her...... I'm able to see her what God wanted me to see her as...... a blessing...... a life lesson.... a musical inspiration..... Her love made me love better..... so whenever i find who im REALLY supposed to be with..... I can love that girl to the best of my ability and more. I still have those dreams replaying the moment she left....... but its all good. Still play Sonic lol.

Facts About...

Sonic is known best for his speed, with the ability to run at speeds higher than Mach 1[1], at a staggering 760 mph. He is known as "the fastest thing alive," and can run backwards at full speed just as well as forwards, as shown in the Team Sonic opening cutscene of Sonic Heroes, in an episode of Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic Underground, and near the end of the first episode in Sonic X. HEY! Plenty of niggas get their inspiration and stage name from outside sources like games, comics, movies and shit. Alot of them name themselves after those inspirations, like me. Get ready for sckoolin kids (cue Sonic 2 title screen music)...

1. Ghostface Killah (personally one of my top 5 artists): Name originates from the character in a 1979 kung fu movie "Mystery of Chessboxing" aka "Ninja Checkmate". Ghost also calls himself Tony Starks and Ironman, a character from Marvel Comics, and has drawn deep in the Ironman mythology.

2. MF DOOM: Began to rap at open mic events at the Nuyorican Poets Café in 1998 where he obscured his face by putting a stocking over his head. His new identity was influenced by Marvel Comics supervillain Doctor Doom. He wears the mask while performing and isn't photographed without it, except for very short glimpses in videos such as Viktor Vaughn's "Mr. Clean" and in earlier photos with KMD

3. Wu-Tang Clan: The name "Wu-Tang" is derived from the name of the mountain Wu Dang (Wudang Shan) in northwest Hubei Province in central China with long history associated with Chinese culture, especially Taoism, martial arts and medicine. I know its been a minute since I dropped a post but I been busy wit plenty of shit on my plate. High school, music, graduation test, and especialy music. Of course I been workin on my own stuff, currently Im writing for a song sampling the Starlight Zone bgm from sonic 1. I started it back in November but had to put it on postpone due to a massive school workload and other things. Trust me u gonna luv tha song. Also been busy wit helping my bro produce sum tracks. He's more of southern mc and goes by tha name of Prince, check out his myspace music. I might have also finally found a big break for my career. The is a recording company exec that is friend with my uncle and he wants to meet with me. Hopefully all goes well. Otherwise its back to tha norm for me and i will continue writing, espicially on a song in work called "The STH"

Oh, to address another question. People around me ask would i ever work with Charles Hamilton or beef with him. I say why beef with a dude who can relate to life almost the same way as me. Us hedgehogs gotta stick together to stand for our different beliefs right? lol. We already got enuff beef in the game and MC's need to show love for each other. Personally I would enjoy working with CH because I really admire his work and vision and I could probably pick up a couple tips from dude. It would be like sum kind of dynamic hedgehog collaboration between two up and coming mc's. Yeah, thats the word. Hedgehog Collaboration. That would be mad dope. If we can both relate our lives to Sonic the Hedgehog in a way that means for both of us that's one more person that can understand why each of us live the way we live. So..... I have only just recently become aware of CH's music. My nigga came up to me a few months ago like, "Yo check out this nigga named Charles Hamilton, he dope and he deep into that sonic shit you" I listened to a couple of CH's songs and was suprised to find someone who finally took the Sonic the Hedgehog shit as serious as I did. And that's just how it is. I was neva like "Oh I see this nigga Hamilton doin the sonic shit so let me do it too". It was my style before I even heard of dude.

Take in mind this view point of life was developed by ME over years and i haved lived by it very FAR FAR before I heard of hamilton

Every zone is a stage of your life and as you progress, the zones and life gets more difficult

Robotnik represents satan in a way and satan attempts to hinder your life in different forms just as Robotnik tries to stop sonic with different machines

Rings also represent knowledge that you aquire in life and as you gain more rings and knowledge, the better protected you are from harm

Robots represent people in life that wish to bring you down, if you let the robots hit you; you lose rings.

If you let people negatively influence you, you lose knowledge

Many people dont know that I have a minor form of musclar dystrophy (MD) and as a kid my family didnt have the medicine to help stop the effects. As a result my sometimes my body would act up, look strange, or not even allow me to move. Other kids thought this was weird (who wouldn't?) and never wanted to play with me. In the corner of the daycare I stayed in there was a lone Sega Genesis with a Sonic game in it. So when the others didnt want to play with me I went to "my" corner and played sonic all alone to forget about any outside problems.

I knew two things would stay constant and love me no matter what happened in the world: Sonic the Hedgehog and my family.

As I got older
Sonic served as the thereputic/best friend I never had role/get high alternative and many occasion kept my mind off of depression.
When my aunt died: I played sonic the hedgehog to cope

When there are days to me like f**k the world: I played Sonic the hedgehog

Even now when i have to reflect back on my life and future: I play Sonic the hedgehog

When I had to comtimplate if I was even goin anywhere in my life: I Played Sonic the hedgehog

The Times I thought God left me : I played sonic the hedgehog

Now I appriciate what God has given me
